Language is the way to express one’s emotions and feelings. It is the base of any culture and creates a separate entity for a nation. It can be beneficial for the children to learn a foreign language at primary schools rather than secondary schools because of multiple reasons which are discussed below.
Languages not only help to communicate with the people when you are in a foreign country but it also creates a great impression when looking for a job. Primary students have sharp minds and can hold a lot of the information. Studies have shown that the students in primary school are more likely to learn a language in two to three years easily than the students in secondary schools. Age plays the main factor in it because the minds of young people are easier to mold. They are keen to learn new things and are ready to give it their best.
Learning a language is like a skill which will not be forgotten in a lifetime. Primary students are at the stages of seeing and learning new things. To begin learning a foreign language at primary school can make the students fluent in that language. It can boost their confidence and enhance their memory. They also have a chance to learn about different cultures. But during secondary school due to the high pressure of academic syllabus it can be difficult to learn a new language.
Some schools prefer to teach the students a new foreign language in their secondary school due to their maturity and high academic level but it can create a huge burden on the students and can even lead to low grades.
This depicts that there are more advantages to learn a foreign language in the primary school as compared to the secondary school where students can carry a little less burden.
