Some people think that paying taxes is enough to contribute to society, while others argue that being a citizen involves more responsibilities, discuss what is your opinion.
A good citizen is a blessing to society. People think that by only paying taxes they are fulfilling their responsibilities. Whereas, others’ opinion is that we can do a lot more for the betterment of our society. I believe that a good citizen should be an all-rounder and ever ready to perform their services.
To begin with, paying taxes is the biggest responsibility of a citizen because that amount is used in the development and maintenance of the country. Likewise, the tax will be used for construction purposes, for the maintenance of hospitals, roads and government organizations, educational purposes,s and many more. For instance, sales tax, property tax, income tax, etc.
On the other hand, there are many other obligations that a good citizen must follow. Citizens must take part in voluntary services because it Is not just about money, our country needs our time and knowledge as well. For instance, by casting a vote citizens can play a role in the establishment of better government, by taking care of cleanliness people can prevent illness and by providing free education people can increase the literacy rate of the country.
To put it in a nutshell, I pen down saying that citizen should not confine their contribution towards society by just paying taxes. However, they should take an active part in performing other duties as well.
