What is GRE?

Several Professional institutions require Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test around the globe. And some of the scholarships and fellowships often

require GRE Test.

The GRE Test measures following skills:

  • Analytical writing
  • Verbal skills
  • Quantitative skills

Above skills have been attained over a long study period and not related to any particular field of study. Verbal and quantitative are scored on a scale of 260 to 340 points and the essay scores ranging from 1 to 6 points.

GRE REVISED SCORES

  1. Verbal score on a 130 – 170 score scale, in 1-point increments.
  2. Quantitative score on a 130 – 170 score scale, in 1-point increments.
  3. Analytical Writing score on a 0 – 6 score level, in half-point increments.

The Analytical writing section tests your critical thinking and analytical writing skills and test your ability to articulate and support complex ideas with explanation and also judge, how well you analyze an argument and maintain well focused coherent discussion. Remember! Your content knowledge is not judged. It is scored on a scale of 1 to 6.

The Verbal section measures your ability to evaluate written material and synthesize detailed information, analyze relationships among parts of sentences and recognize relationships among words and concepts. Question types given below:

  1. Reading Comprehension.
  2. Text Completion.
  3. Sentence Equivalence.

The Quantitative section measures problem-solving ability, focusing on basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry and data analysis. Question types given below:

  1. Multiple-choice — Select One Answer Choice.
  2. Multiple-choice — Select One or More Answer Choices.
  3. Numeric Entry Questions.
  4. Quantitative Comparison Questions.

Structure Of The Computer - Based General Test

The overall testing time for the computer-based GRE® revised General Test is about three hours and 45 minutes. There are six sections with a 10-minute break following the third section.

The Analytical Writing section will always be on the top, while the other five sections may appear in any order.

The GRE revised General Test allows you to freely move forward and backward throughout an entire section.

Specific features given below:

  1. Preview and review capabilities within a section
  2. A “mark and review” feature to tag questions, so you can skip and return later
  3. The ability to change/edit answers within a section
  4. An on-screen calculator for the Quantitative Reasoning section
  5. New answer formats, including tasks such as numeric entry and highlighting a sentence in a passage to answer a question

GRE Preparation At Study Circle

On first visit candidates are assessed with diagnostic test. As per result of diagnostic test we develop study program which varies person to person. In addition, teacher check every candidate’s report on daily bases and deal accordingly throughout his preparation and guide him in an optimal manner. Furthermore, no of lectures are given on all major topics and revised if necessary.
